How many years have you been teaching?
The 2020-2021 school year will mark my seventh year of teaching! Before coming to Sabold in 2017, I worked as a kindergarten teacher at Rainbow Elementary School in Coatesville Area School District. I LOVE teaching and spend most of my time at school or working on projects for school.
What certifications do you hold?
I currently hold 11 Instructional Two certifications in the state of Pennsylvania. These include:
Additionally, I hold a teaching certificate for the State of Delaware, a Catechist Certification from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and a Youth Mental Health certification.
I also hold a Wilson Reading Level One and Dyslexia Certification.
Last year I attended graduate school at West Chester University for a certificate in Educational Technology. Last year I began a doctoral program at West Chester. I will be there for three years! My classes are on Monday evenings.
Where did you complete your teaching degree?
I attended Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA from Fall of 2009 to Spring of 2013. I was an Elementary and Special Education major, and a Faith-Justice Studies, English, and Autism Studies minor. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
In 2013, I stayed at Saint Joseph's University to complete a master's degree program in the field of reading education.
I loved my time at Saint Joes and attended field placements all over Philadelphia and the Suburban school districts. I was very involved in the following activities outside of my coursework:
-I was a RA (residential assistant) for three years
-I was a Hawk Host (campus tour guide)
-I served as the president of CEC (the Council for Exceptional Children)
-I was the secretary of KDP (the Education Honors Society)
-I was a Service Site Coordinator for GESU (a Catholic Elementary School in Philadelphia)
-In graduate school, I was the president of AUA (the honors society for the International Reading Association)
-I served as a GA (graduate assistant) for four professors in the education department
What professional organizations are you a member of?
I am currently a member of the National Education Association (NEA), the International Literacy Association (ILA), the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association (PSLA), the East Central PA School Librarians Association (ECPSLA), and am the Membership Chair for the Keystone State Literacy Association: Delaware County (KSLA: DC).
Where do you live?
I currently reside in an apartment in Broomall, PA.
What other jobs do you have?
I love to stay busy! I am the District Librarian for Springfield School District and am temporarily serving as Team Leader. I also work as a substitute librarian at Ludington Library when needed. I run my own pet-sitting business, Pawsitively Perfect Pet & Home Care. In the summer I tutor students in math, reading, and Wilson with Easter Seals of Southeastern PA/Lower Merion School District.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
When I am not at school (which is rare!), working on projects for school, or working another job-- I enjoy cooking, reading, and gardening. I love visiting National Parks around the country with my sister and traveling to places near and far.
I also love volunteering. This is my ninth year teaching PREP for first grade students at Saint Matthias Parish in Bala Cynwyd, PA. I frequently host field placement students and student teachers as well!
Here is a picture of my boyfriend and I. His name is Mr. Parsons and he works in the Writing Centers at Immaculata University and Neumann University! He also teaches English and Public Speaking to college students.

I LOVE traveling! My goal is to go to all 7 continents one day! (So far, I have been to 4: North America, South America, Europe, Africa.) This is a picture of my trip to the Parthenon in Greece.
I love to cook! Here are some spider brownies I made for Halloween!
One year, my friends and I went on a road-trip to Nashville, TN! We went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, and on an underground cave tour/boat ride!
