I am thrilled to join the 8th grade Owls team this year! This is my 12th year as a Special Education teacher. I taught Special Education for 10 years in the Marple Newtown School District before making the decision to be home to raise my family. Last year, I joined the Springfield School District as a Learning Support teacher for the 6th grade Knights team. I am excited to make connections with lots of new students and families this year at E. T. Richardson!
I live in Springfield and feel so fortunate to be a resident, parent and teacher in the Springfield School District! I have 3 children who attend school at Scenic Hills and here at ETR. My husband has a State Farm office just across the street from our school, so my last name may look familiar from the community! Our 3 year-old dog, Lacy, definitely brings lots of extra energy to our family!
Indiana University of Pennsylvania is my alma mater, where I received my undergraduate degree in Special Education. I also have a Wilson Language certificate. My master's degree in Education is from Temple University, so I suppose that I was always meant to be an Owl!
Outside of school, I love to travel (especially to Disney), take LOTS of pictures for my "someday" scrapbook, and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am also a Girl Scout leader in our town and very much enjoy volunteering in our schools and community.
