WELCOME BACK 2025-2026
6TH and 8TH GRADE MATH
Dear Pepper Drive Families,
Another Summer has come and gone. Here is to a better year than last! So, let’s get to work. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Marc Robbins and I will be guiding your child through their 6th or 8th grade math experience. This is my 24rd year in education and rest assured your child is in very capable hands.
Below are a list of my policies and procedures;

Homework Club:
Under Construction...........
Supplies: See Amazon wishlist on website for classroom needs
I expect every child to come to school prepared. A notebook and pencil would be appreciated. Some items other than pencil and notebook I have listed below will make math run much more efficiently. These are helpful, but not required. But, if you are looking for items to donate these items are perfect.
Pencils, pens, college ruled notebooks, graph paper notebooks, a calculator, dry erase markers and a ruler.
Daily Classwork and Homework:
Main lessons will be accessible in two ways, First, paper handouts for both Instruction and PAPS (Practice and Problem Solving) or CPM Packets and secondly digitally on the Google Classroom site. So, there is no excuse for them to not have the required materials. Also, Supplemental Assignments could be Khan Academy, EdPuzzle videos/practice and math worksheets.
PARENT SUPPORT: i-readycentral.com and homework.cpm.org
We will be using Google classroom. Class codes:
6th: https://classroom.google.com/c/Nzk4ODg2OTI0ODU1?cjc=zklkmzkx
8th: https://classroom.google.com/c/Nzk4ODg2NDM2NDI5?cjc=ibhp3aez
Concept Focus for the Year:
Math is very straightforward. Our year is broken down into Units. Below I have bullet-pointed each lesson’s focus. I provide this in case you’d like to find additional support for your child’s understanding. These titles can be easily copied and pasted into websites. Here are a couple I use for added help, Khan academy, IXL and “Math is Fun". These sites provide step by step lessons, video lessons and practice problems. Of course, these are by no means the only online sources to check out.
Curriculum:
6th: Math Expressions and Ready
8th: Ready, CPM and Prentice Hall
GRADES: All assignments, quizzes and tests will be given a grade as per any other normal year.
GRADE SCALE:
Assignments 15%
Quizzes: 35%
Tests: 50%
Communication:
The Parent Square will be used for daily communication. This is the best source to keep up with what is happening in room 101.
Khan Academy is a source I will recommend for those looking for extra support/work for your child. The site is very organized and can be accessed quite easily. The videos are easy to understand and there are practice problems to help reinforce the concepts. I have my own page which allows me to monitor their work.

Thank You,
Marc Robbins,
