Planning for the Transition to Adulthood for Individuals with Disabilities: Introducing Connections California
The California Department of Education, Department of Rehabilitation, and Department of Developmental Services are pleased to share the Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) Roadmap for Consumers. The roadmap is designed to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and their families navigate the service delivery systems of the three departments and locate available employment resources.
The roadmap provides CIE information by the following age groups:
12–15 years old
16–17 years old
18–21 years old
22 years old and above
The CIE Roadmap for Consumers can be accessed through the following link: Competitive Integrated Employment. For more CIE Blueprint resources, please visit the CIE Toolkit at the California Health and Human Services Agency’s web page: CIE Toolkit. Organizations, businesses, and departments are encouraged to share this resource with the individuals with ID/DD and the families they work with.
