Disaster Procedures
In case of any type of disaster, the school has detailed procedures to follow to help guarantee the safety of students.
Fire, earthquake, and disaster drills are held monthly to acquaint students with proper procedures.
Should a major disaster occur, children will be kept at school until it is safe and then released to parents/caregivers or people on their emergency card or someone authorized to pick up your children.
Make sure you have completed your ANNUAL UPDATE with emergency contact information to ensure your information is up to date.
In Case of an Emergency
If we are in a situation where the school is placed on lockdown students will only be allowed to be dismissed by a parent/caregiver or someone on your emergency contact list once police have given us the ALL CLEAR.
Parents/caregivers will receive a text/email from the school with information. Please note we will not be allowed to let you pick up your child until we get the ALL CLEAR.
Once we get the ALL CLEAR:
Student Release/Pick-Up Location: Gate at the end of our staff parking lot. Richard Lane will be closed for pick-up.
Families will wait in line in the staff parking lot and will be reunified with their child/ren in an orderly fashion.
We will utilize our Incident Command System for Schools (ICS4) RELEASE PROCEDURES: each student will be matched with one of the people on the child's emergency contact list in an orderly manner, documenting their pick-up time.
In case cell towers are down and communication is difficult we have a protocol in place where families can leave a note to another family member explaining who picked up the student and where they were headed.
