I'm Mrs. Wright! This will be my 26th year of teaching, and my 19th at Live Oak!
I grew up on the central coast and went to Saint Mary's College for both my undergraduate degree and teaching credential. After teaching in Oakland for 6 years, I moved to Sapporo, Japan to fulfill my dream of teaching abroad. When I returned to America, I became part of the very first Live Oak team and I have been here ever since! In 2010 I went back to school and earned my Master's Degree in Education through a very unique program from Lesley University in Boston, Massachusetts.
I live in Castro Valley with my husband and 4 cats. You will hear a lot of stories about my cats and the other critters that share my backyard. Did you know I also love bumblebees? I think they are so furry and cute! Observing and taking care of nature is important to me and I hope I'll have the chance to share a critter or two with you this year.
I love to travel and have visited many beautiful countries: Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, to name a few. I have backpacked through Europe twice and enjoyed the incredible culture of Bali, Indonesia twice as well. In 2024, I spend 2 weeks in Thailand and over the summer, I had life changing experiences in Kenya and Tanzania in Africa!
I love crafting, all things Disney, reality TV shows and escape rooms. My happy place is a mountain lake I have visited every summer since I was a teenager. Recently, I fell in love with a new hobby: stained glass!
Please contact me if there is anything I can do for you. I look forward to an exciting year in 5th grade with you! Live Oak is an extremely special school!
