Fun at 5th Grade Camp!

About me

This is my fifth year as a part of the amazing 5th Grade team at Green Valley. Prior to this I have also taught 4th grade and spent a year as GV's science specialist.

Teaching is a second career for me. Prior to this I spent almost 15 years working in the theater. This is where I get my love of telling stories and learned the value of working as a team in order to create something great! Teaching, though, has always been in my bones - I come from a long line of educators - so when it came time for a career switch, going into the classroom seemed like the perfect choice. I am now in my 7th year, and could not be happier - I have truly found my passion.

When not teaching I am enjoying quality time with my daughter, who is a 4th grader this year. We love to enjoy the great California outdoors that is, when we aren't running all over for sports and activities! In those rare, quiet moments, there is nothing better for me than getting out a good book and reading an afternoon away. I hope to inspire my students to love learning about the world around them as much as I do -  through experiences of their own, or in the never ending adventures of literature. My goal is to help to create lifelong learners.
