Saint Raphael School
2023 - 2024
One major area of obligation is the area of SERVICE. The purpose of SERVICE is twofold: Family involvement is vital to a vibrant school community, and parent participation in the many aspects of our school operation help keep tuition costs affordable. Each family is required to complete 40 service hours without a $20 service charge for each hour not completed by June 1, 2023. Anytime you volunteer, you must sign-in and out to receive your correct service hours. Service hour buyout is $800 for any family who doesn’t want to participate in service hours.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Any service opportunity which takes place during the school day with students will be only open to Parents/Guardians/Grandparent(s) who have been VIRTUS trained/certified. This includes being a room parent, trip chaperone, or PTA member. This means that such person has current Virtus certification (within the past 4 years) and has been fingerprinted and cleared THROUGH DOE/SRS*. (*It is great if you have been fingerprinted through work, coaching, the military, a police department, or Starfleet, but unless it is via the DOE/SRS process it does not work for us.)
