AFJROTC unit NJ-931 scored a 100 and earned an overall “Exceeds Standards” rating on their January 2025 unit evaluation from HQ AFJROTC.
This is the highest rating attainable!
Congratulations to the unit, instructors, and the cadet corps for a job well done! During the visit, the Regional Director, Mr. Garcia, and his supervisor, Ms. Humble, were particularly impressed with the level of school support
for the AFJROTC program, the professionalism of the instructors, and the enthusiasm displayed
by the cadet leadership team.
The personal commitment from Southern Regional Administration to this relationship is very much
appreciated and a model desired in all AFJROTC units.
The instructors and cadets exceeded
the standards on six assessment checklist items—an incredible achievement!
"Develop Citizens of Character Dedicated to Serving Their Nation and Community". The mission of AFJROTC is clear - using the Core Values of the U.S. Air Force, build cadets to be the best person that they can be! AFJROTC Detachment NJ-931, located at Southern Regional High School, prides itself in developing future leaders and citizens through a military structure run by cadets and instructors combined. This course is taught by RETIRED members of the Air Force in which were hired by the Southern Regional Board of Education and certified by the state of New Jersey to teach life skills and military science
From being a Cadet Airman Basic all the way to Cadet Colonel, our cadets learn important skills and lessons in followership, leadership, management, military customs, and discipline. We participate in community events such as the Ship Bottom Christmas Parade or Elks Charity Ball. Events are also organized by our cadets such as our annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Field of Flags. These events reinforce the idea of community service and citizenship for our cadets.
