Mr. D. Simon Patrick
Mr. D. Simon Patrick, Scientific Officer and research enthusiast who works in the utilization of functional materials in the fields of water degradation and gas sensing applications. He joined as Scientific Officer in Nanotechnology Research Center at SRMIST in August 2023. His research mainly focused on synthesis of 2D layered materials and metal oxides. Research interests include fabricating room temperature based TMD materials for gas sensing applications, carbon-based materials, and other graphene-like 2D materials. He has carried out his Ph.D. under Dr. M. Krishna Mohan, FMED, Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, SRMIST, KTR, India from 2019-2023. He obtained a Master's in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at National Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, University of Madras in 2016., and he received his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Madras Christian College, in 2014.
