Dr. Palanisamy Bharathi joined as a post-doctoral fellow at Nanotechnology Research Center, SRM IST (deemed to be SRM University) in December 2022. Her research work mainly focused on designing and fabricating sensing devices using layered materials for room-temperature NO2 sensing applications. She has investigated the sensing properties of molybdenum sulphide, tin sulphide and carbon-based materials for their scalability to implement as real-time monitoring devices. She registered her Ph.D under Dr. M. Krishna Mohan, Functional Materials and Energy Devices Laboratory (FMED), Department of Physics, SRM IST, India in 2018. Under the Double Degree Program, she has been adopted as MEXT scholar (Monbukagusho Japanese government scholarship) in Prof. Masaru Shimomura Laboratory, Shizuoka University, Japan and received her Ph. D in the field of gas sensor. She worked as a visiting exchange student in Prof. Masaru Shimomura’s Laboratory from October 2018 to March 2019. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in physics from PSG College of Arts and Science (Affiliated to Bharathiar University), Coimbatore in 2015 and received her master’s degree in physics from Gobi Arts and Science College (Affiliated to Bharathiar University), Gobichettipalayam in 2017. She is experienced in handling various instruments including XRD, RAMAN, FESEM, UV, PL, XPS and static gas sensing unit.
