About the Department of Computing Technologies

The Department of Computing Technologies is the largest department in the School of Computing of SRM family with over 2000 students and 150 faculty members. The School hosts other three departments namely Networking and Communications, Computational Intelligence and Data Science and Business Systems. Various programs are offered at undergraduate level with specializations in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Computer Networking, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Business Systems and Software Engineering apart from the core Computer Science and Engineering. The B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology programs are accredited by Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK and ABET, USA respectively.

About the Computer Vision & Human Computer Interface Vertical

The department of Computing Technologies is having different verticals based on the self interest of our faculty members in various current technologies of Computer Science and Engineering. The main goal of a verticals are to enable the members to up-skilling their knowledge through different technical events such as conferences, FDPs, workshops, etc. The members can bring consultancy projects, joint-research collaborations with IT companies, create research proposals for funding, patents and many more. Our Computer Vision and Human Computer vertical is currently having many innovative joint-collaboration projects with MNCs. It has also complete few projects in the brain computer interfacing field. It has also attracted DST funding in the area of earthquake research.

About the FDP

This Faculty Development Program (FDP) is intended to provide opportunities for teachers, students, employees and researchers of various institutions//organizations for upgrading their knowledge and acquiring practical skills in the field of Computer Vision (CV) in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) domain. The main objective of the FDP is to help the participants learn the various CV techniques, Deep Learning algorithms and understand how to build CV applications for solving various use cases in the real world. The participants will have hands-on session on Computer Vision and Deep Learning models involved in CV domain. The FDP will also equip them to use the CV techniques for creating various real time applications and expose them to the challenges in Computer Vision research.
