Dear Parent/Guardian,
We miss your child/ren!! These are unprecedented times for all of us. Hopefully we are all following the current COVID-19 guidelines regarding keeping ourselves protected.
Our children take their cues from us, the adults in their lives. Let them see us making smart choices, listening to what they have to say, giving them lots of love and attention. Structured routine helps all of us. Now that our “normal” structure and routines have been temporarily suspended, it’s up to us to create one that works for our own families. Maybe give them a job (like wiping down the door knobs). It may give them a sense that they are actively helping out. Our job is to find another adult to “unload” to. Attending Mass as a family is another routine that has been disrupted. Now we can watch it live-streamed! Thankfully God is ALWAYS available, ALWAYS present in any circumstance we find ourselves in. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
I pray that we will all find ways to manage the online schooling as we manage being in such close, constant contact with our family members. Maybe we need to start a conversation about how to get “down time” for each of us: what that means to each member of the family and how to make it happen (for grown-ups, too!). If you have any concerns that you want brought to my attention, please feel free to email me at
I have been using this scripture verse as a mantra these days as I take life one day at a time: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
