We provided a 9-hour camp-style day program for 300 students in 4th-8th grade. Instructors facilitated a variety of different subjects every day for students, including: art, STEM, math, reading, cooking, and various club activities. Students also received specialized instruction in gardening, code-based virtual reality, bicycles, and soccer through our community partnerships (Trips4Kids, America SCORES, NeXplorer). 

The program provided several field trips and fun days for the students including: two carnivals, a soccer tournament, and a sports festival! 

Students are divided into groups of 20-25 students supported by 2 instructors that use a co-curricular model of instruction. Each group came together and students voted for a group name and color that fit their specific class's interests. 

Instructors share their interests by leading student-chosen clubs that included: soccer, flag football, basketball, dance, yearbook, and yoga. Students from dance and yearbook produced end of program projects. Dance club students performed at the soccer tournament halftime and yearbook students presented and shared their yearbook with all other students to sign and take home. 

Every week of summer program offers a variety of activities, special events, or field trips for students to enjoy. Every Wednesday of program are spirit days where students and staff dress up in order to connect as a community and have some fun. The routine of summer program is broken up every Friday by special events, field trips, and carnival days. Students wear their tie-dye shirts made in class to every Friday event!
