TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION BY SCHOOL DISTRICT

MARPLE NEWTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT - GENERAL INFORMATION - ALL PARENTS NEED TO REGISTER THEIR CHILDREN WITH THE MARPLE NEWTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT EACH YEAR. CLICK ON "GENERAL INFORMATION" FOR MORE DETAILS.
Transportation for Half-day dismissals is limited to 12 days. The first 12 half days will be with transportation. Parents will have buses through the last Thursday in June, however the last day of the year (Friday) all parents must pick up students from school.
MNSD ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2025-2026
During inclement weather, MNSD will provide transportation according to the decisions of MNSD only.
Example: If MNSD is operating on a 2-hour delay, your students will be on a 2-hour delay as well.
Example: If MNSD offices are closed, for any reason, and your school is open, the students will not have transportation on that day.
Example: If MNSD opens on time and your school is operating on a 2-hour delay, your school must accept the students on time; otherwise, they will not be transported that day.
In the case of an unscheduled early dismissal, MNSD will provide as much notice as possible to all schools.
Permission slips allowing students to ride a bus other than the students regularly scheduled bus are not valid without permission from the MNSD Transportation Department. All requests must be emailed to us before 12:00 noon, the day of the event. Only Students who reside in MNSD are allowed to ride on MNSD buses.
Throughout the school year, please notify the MNSD Transportation Department of any MNSD students that have withdrawn or enrolled in your school by emailing the information to MNSD transportation. Typically, it will require 48 to 72 hours to process. Please note that this information is imperative to provide safe and accurate transportation for the student and we must have a record of doing so.
Registration for transportation must be done each year. Parents must go to the https://www.mnsd.org/departments/transportation and click on the Non-Public Transportation Link. This survey must be completed by July 19, 2024. All students/parents will receive a postcard or email with busing information one week prior to their first day of school if they register on time.

Transportation will not be provided when HTSD’s offices are closed. District closures for the 2025-2026 school year are:

January 1 - New Year Holiday January 20 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day February 17 - President’s Day
April 18 - Religious Holiday May 26 - Memorial Day
INCLEMENT WEATHER INFORMATION
In the event of inclement weather, HTSD will provide transportation according to the decisions of
the District, as follows:
• If HTSD has declared a weather-related closure and your school is open, your students will
not have transportation that day.
• If HTSD is operating on a weather-related 2-hour delay, your students will be transported
on a 2-hour delay, as well.
• If HTSD opens on time and your school is operating on a 2-hour delay, your school must
accept the students on time; otherwise, they must make alternate transportation
arrangements.
• If HTSD has declared a weather-related closure with virtual instruction, no transportation
will be provided.
• All schools must either call or e-mail HTSD’s Transportation Department to report school
closings and delays by 5:30 a.m. on the day of the event.
• In the event of an unscheduled early dismissal by HTSD, the District will provide as much
notice as possible to all schools.
• In the event of an unscheduled early dismissal by your school, if given sufficient notice,
and your school has not exceeded the five (5) maximum, the District will do its best to
honor the early dismissal.
App to Track Buses
HTSD has implemented Stopfinder, an app that allows parents and guardians to track their
children’s bus accurately in real-time. The easy-to-use app is secure, so only authorized users will
have access to school bus information.
If interested, primary contacts can request an e-mail invitation from the District to register.
Stopfinder can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. The primary e-mail
address provided by your student’s school will be used for Stopfinder setup.

School Closings, Weather-Related Closings, Early Dismissals, and Late Starts:
When Upper Darby public schools experience scheduled closings, unscheduled weather-related closings, delayed
starts, or early dismissals, private and charter school bus routes will follow the same protocol. For official updates,

SPECIAL NOTIFICATION: NO TRANSPORTATION IS PROVIDED FOR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS.
EARLY/EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS: The following will apply:
If Springfield School District has an opening delay due to inclement weather, we will provide transportation to your school based on our opening delay. (i.e., if Springfield opens 2/3 hours late, we will be at students stop/your school 2/3 hours later than normal.) Please inform your parents that transportation will be provided based on the Springfield School District’s schedule/delay.
If your school closes early in an emergency and Springfield School District is on regular time, we will not provide transportation to your school for the early dismissal. We can provide transportation at the regular time if that is an option for your students. Please inform STA Springfield if you choose to have us pick up at our regular dismissal time.
Please remember that if your children DO NOT use AM transportation, STA-Springfield Transportation Department MUST BE notified the parent if PM transportation is required at 484-472-6750 or 484-472-6749. We will not pick up in the PM if we do not transport in the AM & we do not hear from a parent that transportation is needed otherwise.
