About Mrs. Bruce

My name is Lindsay Bruce, née Mercer. This is my sixteenth year at South Pasadena Middle School. I have previously taught English and various electives, as well as 7th grade history. I'm excited to be teaching history full time, especially United States history. It's my favorite.

I am originally from a small town in the California Gold Country called Nevada City, but I've lived in Southern California most of my adult life.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, minor in History from Saint Mary's College in Moraga, California. After a brief career in public relations, I decided to go back to school and earn my teaching credential. I have a Single Subject Credential - Social Science, Introductory English from San Diego State University. I have also earned a Masters Degree in Education - Counseling from Pt. Loma Nazarene University. I am always trying to continue learning and better my craft.

In my spare time- when I have some - I like to read  (especially historical fiction), travel, watch movies, cook and eat, workout, and go to museums. I also enjoy taking adventures with my husband, my two daughters Iona and Indie, and my dogs, Harvey and Clara.
