I received the B.Eng. degree in computer and control systems engineering from the University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq in 1992 and the M.Sc. degree in computer systems and networking from the University of Greenwich, UK in 2009. I received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Huddersfield, UK in 2014.

From 1993 to 2008, I worked as a lecturer at the Suleimany Computer Science Institute and the Technical Institute of Suleimany, in Iraqi Kurdistan Region. From 2015 to 2019, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher with the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield. Since 2019, I have been a lecturer and head of Internet of Things and Systems Engineering Research Group at Sulaimani Polytechnic University.

My research interests include partial discharge, fuzzy logic controllers, embedded systems, IoT, intelligent sensors, and wireless sensor networks. I'm a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the British Computer Society (BCS), the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the Kurdistan Engineering Union.
