Field-Based Experience Placements
University Students
Suffolk Public Schools teachers and administrators take pride in the high level of expertise we have to offer our students and the community. We are always happy to share this expertise with aspiring teachers and administrators through our Field-based Experiences Placement process.
If you are interested in completing your classroom observations, practicum, student-teaching, or internship as part of an accredited college or university P-12 education-related degree program, complete the SPS Field-Based Experience Request Form and submit it to the Office of Professional Development as instructed on the form.
Please understand that placements may take up to three weeks to process and all applicants must meet the following requirements with Human Resources before beginning their placement:
Must NOT be registered on the National Sex Offender Registry for any reason.
Negative TB skin-test results completed within one year of the expected start date are required.
Placements of 30 hours or more require a Badge: Badge cost: $7 (exact cash required), payable in the finance department (2nd floor).
Attention Colleges and Universities: Please ensure you have an active Memorandum of Understanding on file and complete all necessary background checks before requesting placement.
Thank you for considering Suffolk Public Schools as part of your education experience.
