Suffolk Public Schools Secondary Music gives students the opportunity to further techniques in instrumental and vocal music and move into more advanced skills. Ensemble classes are a performing group encompassing a variety of musical styles for public concerts, district festivals, and other regional other performance opportunities. This classes give students an opportunity to refine musicianship skills as an individual and within an ensemble. Experience in solo and ensemble work prepares the student for future career opportunities. Collaborative work within the ensemble provides community involvement, interpersonal relationship skills for employment, and refined artistry. Students develop lifelong skills of collaboration and teamwork, creativity and imagination, critical thinking, and communication and problem solving, necessary within the framework of 21st Century Skills.
