Your CFCMS Chorus is designed with the intent to provide every student with a well rounded, sequential, and comprehensive choral education. Arts education programs of this nature engage students in a process that helps to build life skills such as self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, and self motivation.
Through studies in the arts, students will gain essential knowledge as defined by the National Standards for Education in the Arts and The Fine Arts Standards of Learning (SOL) for Virginia Public Schools, as well as the National Core Standards.

Concerts/ Community Performance
Chorus is a performance based class. Therefore, concerts and after school rehearsals are mandatory and graded.
Concert Absence Policy
Absences must be sent to Ms. Haigh in writing/email 1 week in advance by guardians in order to qualify for an alternate assignment.
Absences that are not notified of in advance of the performance will not qualify for an alternate assignment.
Illness/emergencies will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility requirements: Students must have
attended all performances for the year,
maintained at least a B- in chorus throughout the year, and
no school-wide behavior infractions.
