Instruments
A good quality instrument can be essential to the success of a young musician. Instruments can be rented or purchased online or through a local music store. If you are interested in purchasing, please email Mr. Andrews for recommendations. Here is a sample of quality instrument brands: Yamaha, Jupiter, Bach. *Please do not purchase plastic or colorful instruments.*
Music Supplies
Music supplies can be purchased online or locally. An instrument starter kit is recommended as they normally contain a music stand, cleaning supplies and other items. These items can also be purchased separately.
Woodwinds: Box of Vandoren reeds 2-1/2 (All woodwind players are recommended to use vandoren brand of reeds) Instrument swab
Brass Instruments: Value/slide oil, polishing cloth, mouthpiece (mouthpieces usually come with rental)
Percussion: Snare/ Bell Combo Set. (Vic Firth EP-2A Education Pack-required)
All Students: Metronome/Tuner Korg TM50 or similar, headphones.
