South Portland Schools use a proficiency-based learning system, which means students are assessed on a set of "learning targets", and given multiply opportunities to practice until they demonstrate the assigned understanding of the target.
Scores are reported through Jumprope. Parents can log into their child's Jumprope account using their child's School Google account username and password.
Essential Learning Target (ELT) - statements about what students should know and be able to do. Curriculum is designed around ELTs. Scores are entered into Jumprope by ELT.
Content Score - Weighted average of all the assessments in the course
Habits of Work - Social standards that assess students on their ability to be prepared, engaged, and respectful in their interactions. Scores are captures of how students are behaving in the classroom in these regards.
