Refurbished Equipment Policies

Program Policies:

REFURBISHED EQUIPMENT is any equipment that has been in use by the school district for a long period of time and is now "used". These devices have been used as well as repaired by students and staff within the district, and is now being sold or distributed to the community through this website. 

Often this involves laptops and/or tablets that are now no longer in use by students and staff. 

All of this equipment is used. Most of this equipment has undergone repair and distribution to one or more parties within the district. All equipment has had data completely wiped. Machines have been re-installed, reset, and are now in "factory reset" conditions. 

RATING:  We rate equipment into two cosmetic categories: light use and heavy use. Almost all devices will have sticker residue from prior labeling and/or old SPSD asset tags that are no longer valid. Light use may includes minor wear and tear, including potential small scratches or marks. Heavy use  may also contain dents, scratches, and dings. Broken screens will not be sold, but scratches and dents may be present. 

All machines work before sale. All machines have been tested and function properly. Current battery life status is unknown as it not testable. 

EQUIPMENT: All equipment is in used condition. It was tested in house by students and is in working condition. Read equipment listing closely to know exactly what equipment is being purchased. Power cords for devices are not included unless included in the description. 

SALE PROCESS: As items become available they will be posted online for a period of two weeks. During such time we will be accepting interest forms which are listed on our website. After the two week announcement period, interest forms will be randomly selected and contacted for payment. Please note, at this time orders are limited to one (1) device, per person, per school year.  You may fill out forms multiple devices, but you can only be selected to purchase one device. You will not be contacted if you were not selected to purchase a device. You may to try again, as items will continue to be posted as they become available. 

TIME PERIOD FOR PICKUP: You will have up to two weeks after payment to pick up your device. If not picked up within two weeks, a refund will be processed and the item returned to inventory. 

OPTION TO DECLINE SALE: If on pick up there is no longer an interest in the device the payment will be refunded and returned. The device will return to the sale. 

NO DEAD ON ARRIVAL FOR 24 HOUR PERIOD: All devices have been tested and work. If any device dies within 24 hours of purchase, a refund or replacement will be provided. After 24 hours, there is no guarantee of length of life for the device. 

WARRANTY: Devices are sold as is. There is no warranty provided. There is no guarantee of length of life for the device. 

REPAIR: Device is sold as is. There is no repair provided. There is no guarantee of length of life for the device. 

Devices come with no tech support.
