Welcome to Pixels & Possibilities: a website from Fulbright Teacher Exchange Global Classroom Teacher Julie York! This website is meant to be a place to learn, teach, and share about a global education experience and help create further understanding of the possibilities of using global education in any classroom setting.

Global education broadens perspectives and fosters understanding, preparing both students and teachers to thrive in an interconnected world. This is something that can look a lot of different ways- but in the end, it's an amazing experiences that helps students see themselves as part of a bigger community.

Hopefully this website, a sort of Global Education guide, helps inspire others to think bigger and in connected ways that involve reaching out and talking to others in this amazing world!

Why do it? Because it broadens students perspectives! Explore the site and find the resources that might help make it more possible in your classroom. With technology as available as it is, and so many organizations and teachers looking to connect- there are so many ways to take learning and make it globally relevant! Here's a website of a unit that's about going global with journalling.

This presentation, given to teachers in CSTA and other organizations, is about introducing the SDGs and Globally Competent CS Learners. The presentation shares an engaging overview of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their role in shaping a more sustainable and equitable future. Oh the places we can go! The people we can meet! Here's a project padlet of students from Maine and North Carolina interacting with students from Senegal! The idea of introducing ourselves, sharing about our own lives, and asking questions of others invites students to be curious about perspectives and experiences beyond their own. Simple curiousity boards and sharing like this can help develop critical thinking, empathy, curiousity, and communication skills.
