Lingua Latina Tertia is the first year of intermediate Latin, the third of a four-course sequence offered at SPHS. The course will focus on reading and writing in Latin. Roman cultural knowledge (history, government, geography, religion, mythology, art, literature, etc) will be embedded in lessons. The first quarter will consolidate the concepts presented in the first two years and the remaining three quarters will be dedicated peculiar grammatical constructions, the passive voice, and expanded vocabulary.
Prerequisite Lingua Latina Secunda
EXPECTATIONS
Students will attend regularly, be at class on time, and have the necessary materials. These include a writing implement, a charged iPad, and, of course, a mask. Notebooks and personal Latin-English dictionaries are optional.
All class members will work to get better at Latin, no matter their current skill level. We are all trying to improve, always.
No class member will interfere with the learning of any other students, either by disrupting the class generally or by acting with incivility to any individual(s).
