Math Learning Targets

  • Is skilled at finding volume using unit cubes. (Unit 2)

  • Understands how to plot a point in the first quadrant. (Unit 5)

  • Is skilled at multiplying multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.

  • Is skilled at multiplying multi-digit whole numbers.

  • Is skilled at solving division word problems.

  • Understands decimal notation for fractions with a denominator of 10, 100, 1000.

  • Understands that a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.

  • Understands the basic order of operations for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. (Units 1,3,5,8)

Writing Learning Targets

  • Is skilled at producing a piece of writing that introduces a topic, develops it with facts, definitions, details, quotations, and/or examples, and provides a conclusion. (Informative/Technical Writing)

  • Is skilled at using feedback during the writing process to revise for meaning and edit for conventions.

Reading Learning Targets

  • Understands how to acquire meanings of new words and phrases based on context clues.

  • Understands the thoughts and words of characters in a story and how they support actions of the characters or support the central message.

Social Studies Learning Targets

Understands (classifying/identifying the types of) the geographic features that are common and unique to certain parts of the United States.


Understands (constructing support/give reasons to explain) where people live/settle influences how they work, play, interact

Science Learning Targets

Understands an unbalanced force acting upon an object changes its speed or direction of motion or both.


Understands that changes in speed or direction are caused by forces.


Understands the greater the force, the greater the change in motion and when there is no force applied, motion does not change (inertia).


Understands the role of friction in motion.
