Before getting into my work during the past 2 years, here's some background information on me.
I'm often heard in my classroom expressing the importance of education and more specifically, transferrable skills. I have had an interesting journey leading to me becoming an educator in a public school. But if I'm honest with myself, I've always been a teacher. Prior to teaching high school Science, I was a Sunday School teacher and youth worker at my church and some of the most meaningful PD that I've ever received was at and connected to church.
I moved into a coaching position, while I was selling insurance, which moved me closer to the classroom. But, if I'm completely honest, every house that I stepped into and made an insurance presentation, I was teaching. The only difference was I was situated in an extremely small classroom and with varying topics and students.
Finally, I left my sales job (I did more educating than selling) and moved into a long term sub position inside the school. My journey has been sharpened by coaching and COVID and my life experiences. It was further brought into perspective after the birth of my son.
Ultimately, the goal of this digital portfolio is to give a glimpse into MY experience as a high impact teacher, knowing that this is no where near the end. The journey continues....

Sometimes I find myself on former student's social media accounts in a good way.
I've worked with some great people inside and outside of the classroom.
