About Ms. Graves

Teaching Background:  I have been the teaching librarian at Saint Patrick School since August, 2021.  Prior to that  I was in Tucson for 14 years, my first two years teaching middle school English at Sonoran Science Academy, and the next 12 years teaching 4th and 5th grade secular studies and middle school Language Arts at Tucson Hebrew Academy.  I began my teaching career teaching 4th and 5th grade for many years at Mt. Desert Elementary School in Northeast Harbor, Maine.  I was also adjunct professor of Children's Literature at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Educational Background:  B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Maine.

Personal Life:  I was born and raised in a suburb of Boston, but moved to Maine for college.  I married my husband, Steve, and raised two great kids on Mt. Desert Island, Maine,  where I lived and taught for 30 years. I transplanted myself to Tucson, Arizona (sunshine!) when my husband passed.  I relocated to Carlisle so that I could spend quality time with the two of my four grandchildren that live here.

Outside of School Time:  I adore my kids, grandkids, students, books and reading, quilts and quilting, yarn and knitting, papercrafts and altering books, genealogy, letterboxing, watching movies on a "big screen," and hitting the road to adventure far and wide.  I hate to cook and love to eat.  I finally got to visit my 49th state last year.
