Meet the Counselors
Mrs. Helmig, Elementary School Counselor
Mrs. Cynthia Helmig has been in education since 1997. She started as an Elementary School Counselor and then moved to Middle School Counseling and later to High School Counselor. Since 2006, Mrs. Helmig has been an Elementary School Counselor with SPS. She enjoys helping students, parents, and teachers with struggling students, so they can get back on the path to success. Cynthia and her husband, Shane, have two boys. One is in college and the other is in high school. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family. In addition to her children, she has two furry friends that share an important role in their family.

Mrs. Diaz, Elementary School Counselor
Mrs. Renae Diaz has been part of the Westport team for the last 5 years. She is so excited to start her 2nd year as a school counselor, main working with grades 3-5. Mrs. Diaz loves teaching counseling lessons, running groups, and meeting with students. When she's not at school, she enjoy spending time with her family, husband, and dog.

Mrs. Hoffman, Middle School Counselor
Mrs. Kirstin Hoffman has been working in education since 2014. Originally from Kansas, Kirstin moved to Missouri to complete her Master's degree in School Counseling at Missouri State University. This is her seventh year a Counselor at Westport, working primarily with 6th grade and 7th grade (last name A-L). Mrs. Hoffman has a passion for working with others, and feels fortunate to work alongside amazing students and staff. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband, children, and her dog.

Mrs. Jordan, Middle School Counselor
Mrs. Jolee Jordan was an elementary classroom teacher for 13 years before she became a counselor at Westport. This will be her 9th year at Westport, and she mostly works with the 7th grade (last name M-Z) and 8th graders. She enjoys helping students be successful and encouraging anyone she can. Mrs. Jordan is married to her husband Shaun, who is a campus minister, and she works closely with him in assisting young college students. She also loves the outdoors and running!
