The primary way pre-k teachers communicate with families is via Seesaw. The Seesaw app is available in the Apple App Store and via Google Play for Android devices. If you do not have access to a smartphone or the internet, let your child's teacher know and they will ensure you get the same information in an alternate format.
The frequency of messages you receive through Seesaw varies from teacher to teacher. You should receive at least one message per week but some teachers will post more frequently. Teachers are busy during the school day and rarely have time to check email so they will likely only be able to respond when students are not present.
If you need to contact a teacher due to an emergency, call the main office at your child's school. Click here to view school contact information.

Blackboard Connect - we occasionally send automated phone calls with reminders and information about upcoming events. The same system is used for school cancelations and district announcements.
Our district's early childhood curriculum features three key components: The Emerging Language & Literacy Curriculum (ELLC), Hand2Mind Hands-On Math Resource & Second Steps Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum.
The ELLC prepares preschoolers for success in kindergarten by providing a strong foundation in oral language and literacy through a scientifically based curriculum. This program addresses all developmental domains with theme-based units, children's literature, multisensory activities, and scaffolded instruction. This curriculum fosters an engaging environment that emphasizes activity and play-based learning.
In addition to ELLC, we incorporate the Hand2Mind Hands-On Math Resource, which enhances our students' understanding of mathematical concepts through interactive and hands-on activities. This comprehensive approach ensures our preschoolers develop essential skills in an intentional and developmentally appropriate way.
We also prioritize the social-emotional development of our students with the Second Steps curriculum. This resource supports children in developing essential social-emotional skills such as empathy, emotional regulation, and problem-solving.
Our commitment to the development of the whole child ensures that our preschoolers grow academically, socially, and emotionally, providing them with a well-rounded and supportive early learning experience.
Dress and grooming are important for your child's growth and self-concept. This can help or hinder their ability to learn. Children should be dressed in clean, comfortable play clothing that is appropriate for the weather and allow freedom of movement, and does not hinder them from participating in regular preschool activities. Each child should also have shoes to run, climb, and play in without worrying about slipping or falling. We suggest closed-toed shoes. Coats, mittens, and hats should be worn during cold weather. Remember you are getting your child ready for an active day of learning at school.
On your child's first day of school, you should send with them a complete change of clothes, including socks, to be kept at school. Spills and accidents happen, and a change of clothes is handy. Dirty clothes will be sent home to be washed, and a new set of clothes should be sent to school the following day. Make sure all items are marked with your child's name.
