What is GO CAPS Teacher Education?

To understand GO CAPS Teacher Education, you must first understand what GO CAPS is. GO CAPS (the Greater Ozarks Centers for Advanced Professional Studies) is an innovative program for high school juniors and seniors attending participating high schools. Students are able to test drive their future careers through real-world, hands-on experiences.

The Teacher Education strand aims to help students with an interest in teaching learn more about a wide range of career opportunities, both inside and outside of traditional classrooms. Students in this strand will:

  • tour schools
  • observe classrooms with students ages birth through adult
  • gain hands-on experiences through practicums
  • hear from some of the most knowledgeable experts in our region
  • visit colleges to learn about education majors and more
  • complete real-world projects that solve real-world educational problems
  • connect with students and network with school faculty
  • make friends, have fun, learn, connect, grow, laugh, and more!

Teacher Education Newsletters

During our inaugural year of GO CAPS Teacher Education, we created several newsletters to update parents, schools, and supporters about our activities. If you're interested in learning more about our strand, these newsletters provide the best peek inside our classroom--and our experiences far beyond it.
