Carver Middle School takes pride in the Performing Arts. No other middle schools in the Springfield Public School District provide the opportunity for students in 6th-8th grades to immerse themselves in the full theatre experience, similar to what the high schools offer. Our students learn audition tips and tricks and how to collaborate with cross-grade level peers while creating set designs, practicing stage movement, learning characterization, and experiencing the rush and reward of performing for a live audience. Carver Troupe is more than just a fun outlet or after-school club, it also serves as a bridge for those students who choose to continue with theatre into high school or in their personal lives.
The Performing Arts are pivotal in teaching life skills, teamwork, and grit. Here at Carver, we take pride in ensuring that our Cougars make life-long memories by building on one another’s strengths and celebrating each other’s differences.
