The Sprout attendance policy applies to all workers, regardless of rank or status.
This policy establishes Sprout guidelines for employee use of personally-owned or company-owned cell phones and/or computers for work-related purposes. The company will not be liable for the loss of personal cell phones and/or electronic devices brought into the workplace. Employees shall have no expectation of privacy when using company-owned electronic devices at work, or when accessing Company WiFi using personally-owned devices.
Use of headphones while working is allowed, while following certain safety guidelines: Employees can use cell phones to listen to music while working if they keep volume low enough that they can hear other people talking to them.
Employees should be able to hear other employees at all times.
Employees should be able to hear running machinery at all times.
Cell Phones:
Supervisor Communication: While production employees may carry personal cell phones, they will be restricted from receiving/sending calls or text messages while working, with the exception of receiving/sending calls or text messages to PLMS or supervisors.
Emergencies: Flexibility will be provided in circumstances demanding immediate attention or in the case of an emergency.
Cell phones and/or electronic devices for any other purpose may only be used during breaks and/or lunches.
Prohibited Conduct:
Answer calls during work time unless calls are from management.
Text or email during working hours.
Play games or participate in other activities on their cell phone (personal or company-issued) during work hours.
Use their device’s camera or microphone to record confidential business information.
Disturb colleagues by speaking on their phone for personal reasons during work hours.
Downloading, uploading, or viewing pornography and inappropriate, illegal, or obscene material on any device or over the business’s internet connection.
Use their cell phone or mobile device, on the production floor, while operating or supervising equipment, or while driving (forklift, company vehicle). Safety must come before all other concerns.
