Quark Enterprises has a strong commitment to provide a safe workplace for its employees and to establish programs promoting high standards of employee health. Consistent with that commitment is our Drug and Alcohol Testing policy. Quite simply, our goal is to establish and maintain a work environment that is free from the many adverse effects of alcohol and drug use and abuse, and is consistent with the Utah Drug and Alcohol Testing Act, UCA 34-38-1 to UCA 34-38-15. This Policy will be distributed to all employees, and will be made available electronically for review.
In support of this philosophy, all employees are advised of the following:
The following conduct is prohibited, and violations will be cause to subject an employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination:
Buying, selling, offering for sale, soliciting for, transporting, possessing or using intoxicants or controlled substances as defined by law or any "mood-altering" substance while on/in company property or vehicles, or during work hours, including meal and rest periods, whether on or off company property.
Reporting for work under the influence of, or having present in the body, any intoxicant, controlled substance or mood-altering substance, including marijuana or hashish.
Being impaired or under the influence of legal or illegal drugs or alcohol away from the Company or customer premises, if such impairment or influence adversely affects the employee's work performance, the safety of the employee or of others, or puts at risk the Company's reputation.
Refusing to submit to a required drug or alcohol test. (Immediate termination will result.)
