In the event of a death, Sprout will offer up to three (3) paid bereavement days/shifts to allow for mourning and funeral attendance. Bereavement days must be submitted and used within three (3) days before or after funeral services. Paid bereavement leave will be paid out at the average rate and average hours of the employees previous four (4) paystubs. Bereavement leave will only be offered in the event of a death of an employee’s or spouse’s:

Step-parent
Step-children
Brother
Sister
Grandfather
Grandmother
Grandchild
Son-in-law
Daughter-in-law
Or any person permanently residing in the employee’s home
Verification of employee’s relationship and documentation of services may be requested. Bereavement will not count against employees overall time off allotment or FPH.
