We expect you to:
Take responsibility for your own learning process. Being curious and learning outside of class is crucial for becoming fluent.
Do all your homework every time. If you are in doubt about something, contact a fellow student. Or your teacher.
Come to school every time. Being a reliable classmate is not only important for your own progress. It´s important for your classmates´ progress too.
Read in Danish on your own. Find something you are interested in. You need a lot of language input to build your vocabulary.
Finish the modules on time. Breaks should be taken BETWEEN modules.
Participate actively in class. Take the initiative to talk to others. Be active during group work. Contribute to everyone´s learning. When doing group work, don´t stop talking when you have done something once. Rather, practice more, improvise further conversation and try to push yourself to doing something a bit more difficult. Use the time fully and take all opportunities to practice.
Greet classmates in Danish and make small-talk in Danish.
Be active in a study group or with a study partner. To progress well, you need to work a lot outside of class. We recommend you to be in a study group with classmates, and you are expected to work with classmates outside of class. We strongly recommend that you can work in Studiecentret as a group.
Take part in society. Be curious! A curious attitude is crucial if you want to become really good. Find Danish people to talk to, or at least Danish speakers. Make friends! Build a network with people who both learn and who speak Danish . Go to cultural events. Learn about what goes on in Denmark socially, culturally and politically. At your final exam (PD3), you will be expected to know A LOT about Denmark, Danish culture, labour market issues, and on-going political debates. You are not only a student, you are a fellow citizen in Danish society.
IN GENERAL:
We have high expectations of you! We expect you to become really good at Danish, and we expect you to become active citizens in Danish society.
Likewise, we expect you to have high expectations of the school and your teachers as well.
