We will be working on number recognition, counting, matching number with objects and printing our numbers.
There are many opportunities at home for practice in day to day life. Every child will benefit from practice with numbers on a daily basis.
Some example to use for counting are:
while setting the table
getting a treat
shopping in the store
steps to the car
steps upstairs/downstairs
chairs at the table
tables in a restaurant
grapes in a bunch
Some challenges to use:
Count the grapes in a bunch, then eat a grape. Ask how many now?
Set the table and count the settings, but you'll have a visitor. Ask how many now?
