Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Morning Procedures: On the first week of school, Pre- K-4 parents are able to walk their child to the classroom, however the faster they get into the routine of walking to their classroom waiting area, the easier it will be for them. Parents will not be able to conference with teachers during this time, as the supervision of children is the first priority.
After the first week of the school year, parents/guardians may drop their child off in the car drop-off area, or walk them to the foyer. Students will be supervised by staff as they proceed to class.
Dismissal Procedures: School is dismissed daily at 3:20p.m. For the safety of all students, visitors are not allowed to enter the school building or office during dismissal times unless escorted by a staff member.
Single car rider pick up will enter the drive to Reno and take an immediate left towards the front of the building, pulling up to the curb alongside the front entrance to the school. Please stay in your car and pull forward according to staff directions. A staff member will open the car door to help your child into the car. For safety reasons, all children must enter the vehicle on the passenger side.
Multiple student car rider pick up is open in the back of the building for parents/guardians picking up multiple students. Please stay in your car and pull forward according to staff directions. A staff member will open the car door to help your child into the car. For safety reasons, all children must enter the vehicle on the passenger side.
*All drivers MUST have a school-issued car tag VISIBLE in order to pick up a child.
Ride Changes: Your child will be dismissed via his/her normal routine UNLESS we receive written documentation from the parent/guardian. We understand that at times, it may be necessary for you to make changes to your child’s dismissal during the school day. For your child’s safety, parents/guardians must contact the school office at 817-221-5001 prior to 2:30p.m. This advance notice is necessary due to the high volume of families we serve.
*See map attached
Reminder: During Drop off and Pick up, please stay in your vehicle and keep your school-issued car tag VISIBLE in order to pick up a child.
*Due to the layout of our building, we do not have public restrooms available to the public.
Visitor Policy
Visiting the School - Before entering the school beyond the foyer, visitors (including parents and guardians) must check in at the school’s office. Parents should carry some form of government issued identification and check in through the Positive Proof system. The Positive Proof System has the ability to scan drivers’ licenses or state-issued ID cards and perform background checks. All visitors must successfully complete the check before they will be allowed to enter the school beyond the foyer. Visitor badges should be worn for the entirety of the visit. *IDs will be kept in the office, in a safe and secure location, until visitors exit our building. This ensures that we are able to track visitors present in the building and that visitors leave from one exit, viewable by office staff.
lassroom Visitors- Reno’s policy does not allow parents or visitors to walk the hallways or sit in classrooms unless there is a specific need and prior approval and coordination is done through the administrator and teacher prior to the date. This complies with state law, prohibiting the interruption of classes during the school day by minimizing distractions and maximize student learning, as well as to ensure confidentiality and the safety of our children. Teachers are teaching in classrooms all day except for a state mandated duty-free lunch and a short planning period. If you wish to speak to a teacher, please contact them via email, or the office to leave a message to schedule an appointment.
Lunch time Visitors- Parents who come to school to eat lunch may bring lunch for their child only. The sharing of food with other students is prohibited. After lunch, parents need to return to the office and not walk students back to class. If someone other than persons listed on emergency contacts are visiting Reno and want to have lunch with a student, the parent/guardian must notify the office in writing and in advance indicating who the special visitor(s) is and the date the visitor will be on campus for lunch.
Remember: To enter the building, you must present a government issued identification card! The id will remain in the office until departure from the school. Please share this info with all of the people on your emergency contact list so they are prepared should they have to visit our campus!
