Band Rehearsal Procedures
Parents please use the car loop to drop off your children for early morning programs.
Students should arrive to the band room at 7:30am. Please be in your seat with instrument, band folder, and pencil by 7:40am ready to play your instrument. This includes wetting reeds and having the reed on the instrument ready to play. If you are not ready to play by 7:40am, you will be marked late.
Parents please email Mr. Jones or message me using ParentSquare if there is a reason why your child was late or absent from a rehearsal so that it will be corrected in the gradebook.
While you are waiting for Mr. Jones to begin at 7:40am, read and do the warm-up that is posted on the Smartboard.
7:30 to 7:40 is the time to ask Mr. Jones for help with an instrument problem, ask for a new reed, or replace missing music.
Students needing to go to extra help in another subject during band rehearsal must go to Mr. Jones at 7:30am and tell him or it will be marked as an unexcused absence.
Water Bottles are allowed during rehearsal. Food or other drinks must be kept in your backpacks. No Gum is allowed in the Band Room.
As stated in the Springs School Code of Conduct, cell phones are to remain in student’s backpacks upon entering the school building. A cell phone seen during rehearsal will be taken and given to Ms. Rodgers for the remainder of the day.
