KAITLYN N. FLOYD
Head Choir Director
Kaitlyn Floyd is the Head Choir Director at Westfield High School in Spring ISD, where she leads a thriving choral program dedicated to musical excellence, artistry, and community. Known for her outstanding musicianship and commitment to student growth, she has built a reputation for creating a positive, challenging, and supportive learning environment.
Previously, Kaitlyn served as Head Choir Director and Department Chair of Performing and Visual Arts at The Bailey School for Performing and Visual Arts, where her ensembles consistently earned superior ratings at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluations and other festivals. She also directed the Houston Youth KorUs, a professional children’s chorus founded by the Korean Embassy of Houston, the Houston City Council, and the Korean Community Center of Houston, leading performances at prestigious cultural and civic events across Houston and the United States.
Her leadership extends beyond the podium as a district choir facilitator, providing guidance to fellow directors, organizing professional development, and strengthening relationships within the fine arts community. In recognition of her impact in the classroom and beyond, Kaitlyn was named Bailey Teacher of the Year and honored as a Spring ISD District Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2024–2025. She was an Honored Schools recipient in the same year. A passionate educator, she views choir as a space where students develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and self-expression, and she is dedicated to helping each singer reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love of music.
Kaitlyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Lamar University, where she continues to support the music department by managing summer choir camps, workshops, and professional development opportunities. She is an active member of TMEA, TCDA, and ACDA, and remains a lifelong learner through workshops, festivals, performance and conducting opportunities.
Outside of the choir room, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her two nieces, watching K-dramas, cooking, and caring for her two Siamese cats, BB and Duchess.

TREMAIN PERKIN
Assistant Choir Director
Tremain Perkin is the Assistant Choir Director at Westfield High School in Spring ISD. A first-year teacher, he is passionate about inspiring students to discover their own musical voices and to grow both as performers and as individuals.
Tremain earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Texas State University and is an active member of TMEA. His training and dedication to the choral arts reflect a commitment to fostering excellence in musicianship, collaboration, and creativity.
Outside the classroom, Tremain enjoys reading, learning languages, and watching movies.
