This 6th grade half semester elective is a local course designed to support 6th graders in gaining digital literacy & responsibly utilizing technology for academic success in future CTE courses. Scholars will receive instruction & practice in internet use, online safety, computer basics, email etiquette, media literacy, & computer languages/coding. Team-work & collaborative skills will be introduced.

How Work Will Be Assessed: 50% of the grade is allotted for major grades and 50% is given to daily grades and homework assignments in Regular courses

and 60% of the grade is allotted for major grades. Class and homework assignments are due when specified. Late assignments are not accepted, unless the student has an excused absence.

Make Up Work: Students are to follow the guidelines set in the student handbook concerning make-up work and the time limits for completing and turning in such assignments. Make-up work will not be given to students who were present in class, but refused/failed to

complete the assignment for any reason. When on campus, if student is present for the day, but decides to skip class, student will not be given the opportunity to make up work.

How to Get Extra Help: If the scholar needs 1:1, the scholar is to email a request, a response will be given, and a google meets or zoom will be created.

Required Material: It is expected that each student bring a pen/pencil to class each day. Students will be asked to bring the following supplies: 1

composition notebook, sharpened pencil, 1 blue ink pen, 1 black ink pen, and 1 red ink pen.
