The Texas Library Association creates a variety of suggested reading lists for all ages. These are merely suggestions, not requirements. Librarians will purchase titles they feel are suitable for their campuses and may not have every title on these lists.

The Lone Star Reading List is for 6th-8th grades. There is no voting for the Lone Star program. Again, this list is meant to be run reading without accountability.

The Tayshas Reading List is for high schoolers. this is a large list, so we certainly don't suggest anyone try to read all the books on the list. The list is released on December 1 each year.

The Maverick Reading List is for graphic novels, and it is released on December 1 each year.

The Spirit of Texas Reading Lists are for Middle School and High School.

The Lariat Reading List is fiction for adults.

The Texas Topaz Reading List is nonfiction for all ages.
