Remember: you should use the Camera, Book and Quill, and Lectern to provide some synopsis of the project or what's going on near the spawn point. You may also use the NPC to provide guidance for the player.
This interactive narrative adventure game is designed to provide an opportunity to mix world building with storytelling while using many of the Minecraft: Education Edition tools. It should have somewhat of a cheesy old-school Final Fantasy text based feel. While you will base this adventure on the core plot of your favorite fairy tale, the narrative need not necessarily be rigidly followed. In other words, the players choices should have some affect upon the outcome of the game.
For now, check out the ideas behind this project here.
Here's a Twitch vid of the projects creator.
IDEAS TO MAKE THIS COOLER
Add a Concrete Conflict - Will there be a boss to fight in this story? What about other mobs.
Add a Puzzle - Can you add in some puzzle / trap elements to make it more challenging interesting? Make sure it fits the theme of the story.
All students will submit a completed story as a .mcworld file. Expectations include the following:
Story is complete and a player can travel through the entire story
Directions for the player are clear - it should be clear where to go, what to do, etc. so a player doesn't get lost in the world
A variety of narrative / story telling tools should be used throughout including:
slate
poster
board
sign
NPCs
Students should use the fill and/or clone tool to make building more efficient
Optional: add interactive elements with redstone
