I was tasked with piloting the Apple Classroom application for the Spring Grove Area School District. I worked closely with the Instructional Technology Specialist and the Technology Support Specialist to update the students' iPads to iOS 11.3 and configured the Apple Classroom application for use in an instructional setting. Currently, I am monitoring the effectiveness of the application and how it works with other features on the iPad to ensure proper use prior to a widespread initiative within the district. I will also be tasked with determining whether the use of Apple Classroom is appropriate and effective to be used by other educators.

Presented on the similarities and difference between the Google Classroom and Schoology platforms on the iPads. Also showed how to grade, rubric, and provide virtual feedback to students using each LMS. Demonstrated how Schoology and Google Classroom can provide essential differentiation capabilities for students.

Tasked with creating and teaching a course that would encourage students to work through innovative challenges and solve problems using the Design/Thinking Process. I was responsible for formulating the STEM and Innovation curriculum for the course while in direct communication, coordination, and collaboration with the Principal, Dr. Guadagnino, and the Instructional Technology Specialist, Mr. Sengia. My knowledge of instructional technology increases the scale and variety of teaching strategies in the classroom as well as reinforced my use of technology to promote a student-centered classroom. I use iPads, Schoology LMS, Google for Education Apps, Adobe Creative Suite, Office 365 and other educational technologies and applications to design and support education daily. I continue to be viewed as someone who helps and supports colleagues with technology applications and devices. I gained high rapport from my students.

My knowledge of instructional technology increased the scale and variety of teaching strategies in the classroom as well as reinforced my use of technology to promote a student-centered classroom. Like at the middle school, I was viewed as someone who could help colleagues with technology support. I gained high rapport from my students and was able to make connections with the real world to encourage success.
