Zombie Apocalypse Narrative

The zombies are attacking! The zombie virus is spreading and it cannot be contained.

Luckily, you have time to design a zombie bunker that will protect you. You, and only you, will be living in this bunker. The news outlets are projecting the virus to remain prominent for 5 years. You will be living in your bunker for at least 5 years, so make sure you add necessities as well as things that bring you joy to pass the time. Money is no concern since we are all as rich as Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos, which means that you can add anything that you want! Also, think about where you want your bunker to be located. Are you going to have a flying bunker like the ship in Marvel? Or will it be underground or under water? You decide!

My examples:

I like the ocean so my bunker will be located under the ocean so that I can watch the sharks, whales, and other ocean life swim around.
I like sports, so I will add a basketball court and a weight room to my bunker
I like to play Xbox, so I will add various consoles to game
I always wanted to try indoor skydiving, so I will add an indoor skydiving fan to my bunker
I love watching sports, so I will add a room filled with big screen TVs (might have to resort to watching Zombie football)
I like riding ATVs and dirt bikes, so I will add a motocross course to my bunker

Preparation

Create a list of all the items that you would WANT to include in your bunker...

Example:

Xbox
85" TV
Coffee machine
Vending machine filled with Nutty Buddies, Reese's, and Swedish Fish
XL bean bag chair
Indoor Pool
Indoor skydiving fan
Huge water slide
basketball court

Create a list of all the items that you would NEED to include in your bunker...

Example:

Food / food storage / food prep
heating / cooling
fresh water
Toilet

Design

Design the most awesome bunker ever! What amazing things would you like to have to keep you happy and entertained? BE CREATIVE!

Floor Plan

You will be presenting your concept and design by creating a FLOOR PLAN. This is an example of a basic floor plan. A floor plan shows the location of the walls, doors, windows, and features within each room. Your bunker should be a floor plan that depicts each feature and characteristic of each room.

Use the large graph paper located along the side of the room for your floor plan. Your final design will be completed on this paper or on Minecraft!

Build Apocalypse Bunker in Minecraft

You can build your apocalypse bunker in Minecraft if that is something that interests you!
Make sure you create a NEW WORLD in CREATIVE MODE. You should not be in a world with other students.

Create the following:

Location (under water, in a tree, under ground, etc.)
building each of your rooms
identify the activities and features that you want, as well as the features needed to survive.

Presentation Video

Make a video using your camera and iMovie to explain your floor plan and your bunker features. Be as detailed as possible with this video. Once you have finished with the video, add it to the Padlet wall below.

Open Google Drive
Click the '+' sign in the bottom right-hand corner
Upload
Photos and Videos
If the box opens asking for photo permission, click 'Allow All"
Upload the video that you took of your bunker
Once the file is uploaded to Google Drive, click on the 3 dot menu
Select 'Manage Access'
Under Link Settings select 'Change'
Make sure that 'Anyone with the link' is checked
Then click the 'Link' icon in the top right of the Link Setting box
Add that link to the Padlet
