Headmaster's Message

Papa, Get the Moon for Me

I am in teaching because of a teacher. I suspect that everyone who has made teaching their career has been inspired at some stage by a teacher.

SRC News

"It always seems impossible until it is done"

Nelson Mandela

This quotation from Mandela seems particularly true in the context of the significant events that happened towards the end of the third term. South Africans, facing the grave situation of excessive violence towards women and children, called out to all citizens to demand change and, as Springfield, we answered. The SRC, along with the two newly elected head girls, organised a silent march and prayer to raise awareness against Gender Based Violence. Before the march we organised a poster making session which turned out to be a time of reflection and singing. The girls showed their bravery and respect as they maturely voiced their opinions and listened to the views of others.

On more day to day issues: the SRC focused on concrete plans to carry out the goals of each grade’s representatives. The Grade 8s goal was to raise awareness around body positivity and in one of their wellness sessions they had a zumba class. The Grade 9s wanted more inclusivity and they plan to create spaces for dialogue, the Grade 10s wanted more opportunities for discussion and they organized a grade discussion facilitated by a teacher, and the Grade 11s wanted to raise awareness around mental health and they made a video with how to deal with stress.
