The Springfield music department has always been active in promoting the benefits and
opportunities that music offers. The music school has continued to provide students with
opportunities to learn and develop their skills on many different instruments.
The cello is a part of the family of stringed instruments. It has a very old and rich history
within music, dating back to the 1500’s. Since then, the cello has become a universally popular
instrument in many different genres of music, and is a widely known and loved instrument today.
Here at Springfield, our cello department has grown steadily and we are excited to offer lessons
to all students in both the junior and high schools. If you are interested in learning how to
play the cello, please contact our music department! If you are unsure, come along for a free
trial lesson to see if the cello is the instrument for you.
