Sonia has been at Springfield for 32 years and has in a quiet and efficient manner assisted staff and girls over the years. Sonia is a kind and helpful colleague who will be sorely missed.
Una Christopher
Una first joined Springfield 32 years ago and has over the years worked in the Natural Sciences and other departments across the school. After her final years with us, it’s time to bid Una a fond farewell. Una's kind and approachable way with the girls has made her a teacher to remember. As a colleague her supportiveness, sense of humour and willingness to help are just a few of the reasons she will be missed.
Di Lapping
Di's playful sense of humor, non-judgmental acceptance and whole-hearted celebration of the success and joy of others endear her to all. Di has been a member of the Springfield Community for 23 years and her wisdom and enthusiasm has richly impacted on many girls. Her positive attitude and joie de vivre will be missed.
Suzy Botha
Suzy Botha has worked at Springfield since 2005. During this time she worked tirelessly in the Natural Sciences and Life Sciences departments. Suzy was known for the fun and interesting ways she approached Biology topics. In recent years Suzy was also responsible for guiding some of the pupils in grade 8 and 9 in Learning Support. Suzy’s cheerful and bright nature will be missed around campus and we wish her all the best as she takes a position next year at Reddam.
Esmeralda Jacobs
Esmeralda leaves the teaching profession after many years, where the last 13 years have been dedicated to Springfield. During this time she taught Afrikaans in the junior school and History and Afrikaans in the senior school. For the past 6 years she served as the Head of our Afrikaans Department where high standards of excellence, creative thought and the well-being our pupils were paramount.
Her nurturing further benefited our scholarship pupils who were under her constant loving gaze and wide protective wings. She will be missed.
Springfield wens jou geluk en sterkte soos jy die nuwe, bekorende avontuur aanpak, Ralda

Cheryl commenced teaching at Springfield ten years ago in her capacity as part time Religious Education teacher. Her duties over the past ten years also included teaching Afrikaans, Life Orientation and for some time she also served as Senior School RE Co-ordinator. Cheryl served with absolute grace and dignity, traits personified in her interaction with both fellow colleagues and pupils. We wish her God’s richest blessings upon her retirement. Cheryl will be sorely missed.
Albert Combrink
We say farewell to our music maestro of 5 years. His work in assisting with Opera in a Convent Garden and many other musical events have benefitted many in the Springfield Community. Albert’s talent and passion has been an inspiration to many and we wish him for his new adventures ahead. Albert will be missed especially during piano recitals.
Jen du Plessis (nee Butler)
Jen leaves us to spend some time in Sweden with her husband who is doing his postdoctoral studies there. Jen is a dedicated teacher who is always happy to give her time to helping the girls or a colleague. She is compassionate, genuine and abundantly patient. While this next chapter is an exciting adventure for her and her husband, everyone at Springfield is sad to be losing her and she will be terribly missed.
Caryn Edwards
Caryn has worked within the RE/LO department for the past two years and has made an incredible difference. As a young teacher, modeling her faith in the most authentic way, she has deeply touched the lives of many pupils she has taught and colleagues alike and will be missed. Wishing her God's blessings as she and her family relocate to Durban in mid December.
Lynne Reagon
Lynne has been Head of Senior Sport for the past two years and she is well known for her enthusiasm, zest for life and friendliness . Her willingness to help with anything, organise anything and take on new challenges has been appreciated. We are going to miss Lynne but know that we will see her on the side of the sports field soon.
Luiza Gomes
Luiza has held the position of Admissions Officer for the last two years and has efficiently and warmly welcomed many new families to Springfield. We wish Luiza and her family all the best on their new adventures in New Zealand. We will miss her warm smile.
Kaye Cloete
Kaye has been part of the Counseling Department for the past year and has brought a wealth of experience and a wonderful fresh perspective to the department. The girls have benefited from her warm and caring nature, which will be missed.
2020 Organogram
At the Senior School next year, we have endeavoured to simplify matters. All the girls have already been divided into vertical ‘connect’ groups of about 16 girls from all grades, who meet regularly during the week to discuss matters of school, national and life importance. There are nine Connect Groups in a House with every House having their own House Head. Below is the 2020 Organogramme. You can click on the different boxes and see who will be in charge of various areas of the senior school.
