What is the Academy of Business?

Academy of Business (AOB) bridges the gap between the classroom and the workplace. The unique curriculum supplements a student’s regular course load and offers the chance to work as an intern. Students have opportunities throughout the program to hear industry leaders, develop networking and interviewing skills, create resume portfolios and discuss career options, all while receiving specialized education. The Academy of Business program began in 2000. Today, more than 2500 students have successfully completed the program.

Students in grade levels 10, 11 and 12 are eligible to participate. Admission occurs in 10th or 11th grade.

*Please note that if you already applied in the 10th or 11th grades, you do not have to reapply in the 11th or 12th grades. 

Qualifications for Admission:

• Current 10th graders with at least one credit in a Business Program of Study

• Current 11th graders with at least two (2) credits in a Business Program of Study

• Demonstrated interest in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, or finance

• Submission of a completed application

• Registration fee-$50.00

• Selection of a Business, Marketing, and Finance Program of Study

• Participate in each grade level Program Highlight

Requirements:

AOB requires earning 4 credits in business courses completed within a single Program of Study plus a 160-hour internship in a business/finance related job.
