Language 6-8

Hello Sprague families! We hope you are all doing well in these challenging times. We will be posting some general language activities for your children while we are out of school. We will also be contacting each family individually by email or phone with specific suggestions on how to help your child work on his or her language goals. Please feel free to email either of us at chogg@spraguek12.org or lboucher@spraguek12.org with any questions or concerns and one of us will get back to you. We will all get through this together!

Hi Parents and Students, here is something fun you can do at home that will build language skills and bring a smile to your face. Look at some of the jokes in the link below.

Try telling them to members of your family.

Then see if you can explain why they are funny.

Some jokes are based on words that sound like other words, while others are funny because of words that have multiple meanings.

Still other jokes make you laugh because they use figurative language or ridiculous situations.

Why are the jokes you picked funny?

You might even try making up some jokes of your own. Have fun!

I hope you all had a pleasant week off and are ready to have a great time with some distance learning activities. Here are some great pages to help you with understanding context clues. I think you will like the story because it's all about hedgehogs, one of my favorite animals.
